Shakedown in Lowtown
Whilst exploring Lowtown, Baird and Roxy were accosted by thugs working for Lord Morass, one of the crime lords than ran Rothgar. Seeing an opportunity to get rewarded, the thugs sought to deliver Roxy to their boss, but saw no harm in having a little fun before they got there, and before long a small crowd had gathered to watch the impending violence.
As the melee broke out, Baird and Roxy easily fended off the thugs. Unfortunately backup soon arrived, and the pair were outnumbered three-to-one. Things were looking problematic until Sei jumped into the fight after seeing her old friends in trouble. Not long after the thugs fled, leaving one of their number to be dragged away by the two young mercenaries.
- Sei. “After a bit of walking around, trying to find more inspiration and parts for another attempt at an invention, I stumbled across Baird and Roxy. Two people who I knew at different times in different places. They looked like they were in a tight pickle so I decided to help them out with one of my few successful iinventions of my own. Cracking a whip wasn’t too much of strain and taking out of couple of guys wasn’t too bad for people I wanted to catch up with anyway but even with numbers, they ran away!”
The Mysterious Mister Johnson
Taking the thug back to Roxy’s former, and Sei’s current, home, they interrogated him about Aurora and learned of ‘Mister Johnson’, an information broker located in the city depths. If anyone could find out about the girl, it would be him. Making there way there, the trio found Sabriel after she just finished having a meeting with ‘Mister Johnson’.
She informed them that she had already organised for the information broker to look into the whereabouts of Aurora, but in return they were to do a favour for him. He wanted to know how a particular member – Lord James Helling – of the Lord’s Council was going to vote on a critical matter of public policy. Unfortunately Lord Helling had not stepped outside his residence in the Old City for over a week, and his security had been stepped up quite considerably. There job was ‘simple’ – infiltrate Lord Helling’s residence and find out which way he intended to vote before the Council meeting tomorrow….
- Sei. "We met up afterwards to discuss what we done after parting ways for a tiny bit back at my place, which happened to be Roxy’s previously to discuss some plans about adventuring and what they’re currently up to. Sounded great to me! Oh, we also brought back a prisoner to interrogate but I’m not too keen on that so we just let Roxy do it. We had to meet up with someone named “Mister Johnson” after finding what we hoped was good information. In the end, it was just an infiltrate and information gathering task which seems to be fine for the first experience of adventuring in a long time!"
